Interview with a modern story writer
Croatia
2nd grade students and their teacher Martina hosted our well known writer Željka Horvat Vukelja on Zoom. Her most famous stories are The Brave and The Rebus Stories. She told us one of her stories and answered the questions we asked her.
She admitted she wasn't very brave when she was little. She finds ideas for his stories in ordinary things like closets, pencils, keys... While she was growing up, she didn't know she was going to be a writer, she wanted to be a teacher. Stick dolls for her video stories, which she began filming during the pandemic, she makes herself.
The meeting was very interesting to the students. We were motivated to try at writing rebus stories ourselves.

Interview with a modern story writer
Activity mentor Monja Šalamon wrote:
At the first meeting with the writer Aleksandra Pinterič, we talked about her writing career. She read us the fairy tale Snowflake Zinka. We also talked about the values presented in the fairy tale. At the writer's initiative, the students browsed through their memory and talked about their experiences.
At the first meeting with friends from Portugal, we introduced ourselves and presented the powerpoint of our country.
At the second meeting with the writer and friends from Portugal pupils from Portugal asked the writer various questions about her writing career and about the fairy tale Snowflake Zinka. The writer also donated the book, and we sent it to Portugal together with the dedication and our signatures.
We held a competition for the most beautiful and most special snowflake Zinka, which more clearly adorned the story in kamishibai.
I created Padlet, where Zinka was also drawn by students from Portugal. We also created ID cards and corresponded at Padlet.
At one of the meetings, we prepared a quiz about snowflakes Zinka for students from Portugal, and then we talked in English in pairs in the ZOOM rooms.
