Trip to the library

Croatia

In the Library

2nd grade students and their teacher Martina Mikulaš visited the school library.

The librarian Branka introduced the students to the school library. She reminded them of the famous books and picture books. She also reminded them of the adventures of various characters in the stories. The students learned how to borrow a book and how to take care of their books.

They also listened to the story The Mouse in the Library. They talked about why we say the book is our best friend. The visit was short, but very interesting. We look forward to our next visit to the library - the book empire.

Trip to the library

We took our first-graders into the world of reading on Friday, September 17, on the day of golden books and at the official start of reading for the reading badge, when we solemnly handed them a gift picture book of the Ponikalnica Reading Badge Association by Miroslav Košuta and illustrator Suzi Bricelj. The curious looks of our youngest ones, the enthusiasm for the dolls Oli and Pika, who accompanied the librarians Monika and Monja, and the joy of receiving the picture book marked the holiday. The first-graders listened with interest to the fairy tale Silent, Here We Read !, the story of a very persistent wolf who learned to read. Although he progressed slowly and put animals on a farm in a bad mood by indistinct reading, he eventually became a true master of reading.

The library was also visited by second-graders from the Šentvid branch school. The librarians always prepare something interesting for the students, so that the children can happily return to the temple of learning.

Here at Ulverley, we are lucky to have our own school library. All classes get to visit the library once a week. Our library is stocked with a range of non-fiction and fiction books. The children love visiting the library and always ask when they are next going!
